The robot, named ''Kiyomori'' after a 12th-century general (Taira no Kiyomori), can walk and sit comfortably with its 39 jointed frame.
The company said thanks to its new technology, Kiyomori walks more humanlike than others biped walking robots which are unable to stretch their knees while walking.
